Description
Sid Barnes Australian Cricketer.
Sidney George Barnes was without a doubt one of Australia’s greatest opening batsman. Ahead of his time and much maligned, Sid’s ability was without question. So much so that Sir Donald Bradman in 1948, after some near losses, told the touring party that either he or Sid would play in all remaining games to ensure the team’s chances of an undefeated tour—as was the case. The Invincibles were voted team of the 20th Century of all Australian Sport’s Teams. Sid Barnes’ batting average of 64.6 is second only to that of Sir Don Bradman, for all Australian Batsmen. This unique piece of memorabilia tells the tale. Displayed in an elegant timber frames.
